\u00a0Dyslexia<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Dyslexia is a set of processing difficulties that affect the acquisition of reading and spelling. The most commonly observed cognitive impairment in dyslexia is a difficulty in phonological processing (i.e. in phonological awareness, phonological processing speed or phonological memory).\u00a0\u00a0However, phonological difficulties do not fully explain the variability that is observed. Working memory, processing speed and orthographic skills can contribute to the impact of dyslexia\u2019.<\/p>\n

Dyspraxia – Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) dyspraxia*<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also known, in the UK, as dyspraxia, is a common but serious disorder affecting movement and coordination in children, young people and adults, with symptoms present since childhood’.<\/p>\n

\n

‘There can be a range of co-occurring non-motor difficulties which can have a substantial adverse impact on daily life. These may include social and emotional difficulties as well as problems with time management, planning and personal organisation, and these may also affect a person\u2019s education or employment experiences\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)*<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is characterised by features of both a mental health condition and a specific learning difficulty.\u00a0 It is characterised by a persistent pattern of inattention and\/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with normal functioning or development; is present in multiple settings (eg, home, university, work) and symptoms interfere with, or reduce the quality of social, academic or occupational functioning (DSM -5)\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0We are able to assess adults for characteristic features\u00a0of dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder)\u00a0and of AD(H)D\u00a0for the purposes of the identification of specific learning difficulties in the context of education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
